KRyS Global Halloween races on Sunday

The KRyS Global 30K, Halloween 10-10-10 Relay and the Fun 5K all take place in East End, Grand Cayman, on Sunday, Oct. 30, starting and finishing at Morritt’s Tortuga Resort.

Many participants dress up, and there is a prize for the best costume.

The 30K race is used by many of Cayman’s long-distance runners as a pre-marathon warm-up, just five weeks before the Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon on Dec. 4.

The race starts at 6 a.m. at Morritt’s Tortuga Resort with runners heading down the Queen’s Highway toward the north side of the island, continuing on a large loop inland by the botanic gardens and back to the coast road. In addition to stunning sea views, runners will pass Gun Bay and the Wreck of the Ten Sail on the loop run.

The Halloween 10-10-10 takes the same course as the 30K runners but is run as three legs of 10K per runner. The 10-10-10 relay has also become a warm-up race for those teams participating in the marathon relay, organizers said.

The 5K race, which starts at 7 a.m., is ideal for those who prefer to walk or run a shorter distance.

Those who wish to enter must pre-register, either via www.caymanactive.com or at Camana Bay on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. For more details and to email your completed registration form, send to dereklarner@racecaribbean.net.
