KRyS Global donates IT equipment to local BVI schools

Our BVI office continues to support its local community as it recovers from the devastation inflicted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria which caused widespread destruction to the islands in September 2017.

Managing Director, Charlotte Caulfield and Office Manager, Aisha Liburd were delighted to present the faculty of the Alexandrina Maduro Primary School in Baughers Bay, Tortola with 12 refurbished laptops before all the extremely excited children at a special assembly of the school.  Miss Cruikshank, the Senior Teacher present,  hopes to be able to use the laptops to develop the pupils’ IT skills. Mrs. Fahie-Butler, the Principal, who could not be at the presentation sent words of gratitude. She said, “The Staff and Students of the Alexandrina Maduro Primary School are indeed grateful to KRyS Global for this much needed donation. The laptops will be utilized to enhance our students’ academic performance. We are also thankful that your firm saw the need to ensure that our future leaders continue to be exposed to the technological world.”

One in three primary schools in Tortola were destroyed by the hurricanes, and Alexandrina Maduro Primary School has absorbed pupils from other schools affected, including children with special needs from the Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Center.

KRyS Global also donated equipment to the BVI’s only public high school, the Elmore Stoutt High School.  The High School suffered catastrophic damage and is operating from temporary facilities.  The firm has donated a large capacity printer, TV and stationery supplies.  Mr Zacharia Yunusah, Mathematics teacher said, “Words cannot express how grateful I am with the help you gave the school.  May God continue to bless you by helping the needy.”

Charlotte said, “KRyS Global is part of the BVI community, all of whom suffered as a result of the Hurricanes and it’s important that we continue to support the recovery efforts.  Its been tough enough for us adults to adjust to life post-Irmaria but even harder for young people and children to process.  We’re glad to be able to help where we can as the community rebuilds and will continue to do so over the years to come”.
